Year 4 is the final step in the children's journey at Southridge. It is a year which is packed full of exciting learning, fun trips and the opportunity to take on a little more responsibility around school. Children will take on 'Buddy' roles; helping younger children with anything from eating their lunch to playing sports at lunchtimes or taking care of the environment through litter picking and being Eco-Warriors. The children have the opportunity to attend their first residential trip to High Borrans and will spend time preparing for their transition to Middle School.
In summer, the children in Year 4 will take the statutory Multiplication Check in which they need to be able to quickly recall all facts up to 12x12. The sites below will help children to do this through fun games and challenges.
We do not send spelling homework, or have a weekly spelling test. Spelling is taught and assessed in class. You can still support your child's learning in spelling by playing the assigned games on Spelling Shed
