School Meals

SCHOOL MEALS

In the Autumn term all children will be able to access a hot school meal. If your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 they are entitled to a free meal under the Universal Free School Meal offer but you will need to register on Joinos at North Tyneside Council.

If your child is in Year 3 and 4 they can  also register via Joinos to pay for a school meal.

This term our school kitchen will be open providing a hot menu with one choice plus a vegetarian menu.
We operate a 3 week rotational menu in all our schools.

Following a school term holiday we always restart on week 1.

All children in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2 are eligible for Universal Infant Free School Meals, but you must complete an application form to register on joinos -  available on the north tyneside council website. If you do not complete a free meal application form you will have to pay for meals from Year 3.

North Tyneside Council’s Catering Services provide our school meals. They aim to provide healthy, well-balanced menus that pupils will enjoy.

All meals are freshly prepared in school each morning and meet the rigorous school food guidelines set out by the Government.

For just £2.25 per day your child can enjoy:
  • a choice of freshly cooked main courses
  • fresh salad or vegetables
  • bread
  • a tasty pudding
Our school meals are designed to give your child exactly the right kind of foods to keep them going until teatime, including lots of energy-giving carbohydrates and at least two of their five a day fruit and vegetables.

If your child doesn't already stay for a school meal, why not introduce them? You might be surprised.
